Conference on "The Principle of Solidarity in the European Union: Challenges and Opportunities"

The Department of European Political and Administrative Studies organised a conference on the subject of "The Principle of Solidarity in the European Union: Challenges and Opportunities".

This conference assessed the potential, challenges and limitations of solidarity as a political and constitutional principle of the European Union. The focus was on solidarity between the Member States at a time of particular challenges. There were sessions on the political and legal foundations of the principle as well as on its application in different major EU policy fields.
