On 24 February 2014, Dr Halik KOCHANSKI, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, gave a lecture as part of the EP Geremek European Civilization Chair lecture series. The lecture was entitled "Poland's Place in the Grand Alliance during the Second World War". Dr KOCHANSKI spoke in detail about the Polish wartime experience.

      

Dr Halik KOCHANSKI was educated at Downside School and at Balliol College, Oxford, where she was awarded an M.A. in Modern History. She obtained her Ph.D. from King's College, London. She has taught history at King's College London and University College, London. In 2012, she published the book "The Eagle Unbowed: Poland and the Poles in the Second World War", on the same subject of Geremek lecture.
