The Light Front

With the Light Front, you will be following the front line as it existed at the time of the cease-fire in the autumn of 1914 after the flooding of the Yser plains at the end of October.

At night, the troops from both sides could see the enemy’s lights along the front line, across the flooded plains. On 17 October 2014


GoneWest wants to recreate this line by having 10,000 participants light up the stretch of land between Nieuwpoort beach and Ploegsteert, using flaming torches.

The Student Affairs Office reserved 10 spots for College of Europe students to participate.

The event will be broadcasted life from 19.00 to 20.30 on the Belgian television channel "Canvas".
