On Friday 3 February 2017, the Natolin Careers Service organized another session of the Meet the Professionals series, a programme of events which allow Natolin students to learn about diverse career paths, directly from seasoned practitioners. This time, Natolin students met with Ms Iwona REICHARDT, Deputy Editor in Chief of the magazine New Eastern Europe.

New Eastern Europe is an exclusive bimonthly news magazine dedicated to Central and Eastern European affairs. The editorial team of New Eastern Europe is based in Krakow, Poland. The project is a joint collaboration between the City of Gdansk, the European Solidarity Center and the Jan Nowak-Jezioranski College of Eastern Europe. The mission of New Eastern Europe is to shape the debate, enhance understanding and further the dialogue surrounding issues facing the states that were once a part of the Soviet Union or under its influence. New Eastern Europe is not a scholarly journal, but takes a more journalistic approach with commentary/analysis from journalists, experts, analysts, writers, historians, as well as leaders and political figures from the East and the West.

The discussion with Ms Iwona REICHARDT focused on three major themes:

  • New Eastern Europe as a great source for research for Master's theses;
  • Submitting articles for publication in New Eastern Europe under friendly supervision of qualified staff;
  • Internship opportunities in New Eastern Europe in their Krakow Office.
