On Monday 17 February 2020, the Diplomacy Society of the College of Europe in Natolin organised a panel discussion entitled "The Visegrád Group in the EU: Past, Present and Future".

The goal of the event was to better understand the Visegrád Group’s positions regarding the challenges the EU and its members are facing: security and defence, relations with the US, China, and Russia, energy transformation, the digital revolution in the economy, and the accession of the Western Balkans to the European Union.

Representatives of all four Visegrád Group countries participated in the discussion:

  • H.E. Mr Wieslaw TARKA, National V4 Coordinator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland;
  • Mr Jiří KYRIAN, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Czech Republic to Poland;
  • Mr Peter BAK, Counsellor at the Embassy of Slovakia to Poland;
  • Mr Lóránt JUHOS, First Secretary at the Embassy of Hungary to Poland.

The discussion was moderated by Mr Adam REICHARDT, Editor-in-Chief of New Eastern Europe.
