Impressive artwork decorates facade of Verversdijk building

The Verversdijk site of our Bruges campus already incorporated a wonderful series of contemporary artworks from the Groeninghe Art Collection and recently we had the honour to welcome a new piece of art. Not inside the walls of one of our majestic buildings, but on the facade of Building B. Students, professors and staff members, but also passers-by and tourists can enjoy an impressive creation by Amanda BROWDER.

The colourful art installation was set up in the framework of the 2021 edition of the Triennial Bruges, which starts this Saturday 8 May and ends Sunday 24 October. Every three years, this extraordinary cultural event brings contemporary art and architecture to the historic city centre of Bruges. The Triennial Bruges, diving into its third edition, is an active collaboration between Brugge Plus, Musea Brugge, Kenniscentrum vzw and Cultuurcentrum Brugge and is commissioned by the City of Bruges

We are very proud that one of our College of Europe buildings is part of the unique art trail, which offers thirteen national and international artists and architects the opportunity to present a dozen of new temporary installations. The theme of the 2021 edition is TraumA. On Sunday, 9 May at 2 pm, 40 Bruges bells will officially inaugurate the Triennial Bruges. You can explore the amazing visual artworks in the public UNESCO World Heritage site for free.
