On Tuesday, 15 June 2010 the 2010 Government of the Future Summit took place. This conference convened under the timely theme “State Transformation in the Post-Crisis Era.” and was organised by the Lisbon Council, a Brussels-based think tank, in collaboration with the College of Europe and Accenture.

With governments facing unprecedented challenges – partly driven by constraints in public finances, partly triggered by the need to be more innovative and experimental – the time is ripe to highlight the need for transformation and renewal. Join key thought leaders, top practitioners and College of Europe students for a one-of-a-kind exchange about the future of government.

For eight months, students from the College of Europe have visited public sector agencies to prepare case studies to solve concrete challenges. At this award ceremony, four case studies will be presented and prizes awarded: 1) Matching jobs and skills at Pôle Emploi, Paris, 2) Better outpatient care in Barcelona, 3) Sustainable governance in Dublin, and 4) Improving Web 2.0-based government services in Oslo.
